147 1.6 88kw engine idle problem. Please help
i write to you in the search for answers because i can't find a good Alfa Romeo mechanic in my area (Romania). even at the local dealer they don't know what's wrong.
the car: 147, 1.6ts, 88kw, 2001
here's the story:
A few months ago i noticed the car was idleing badly, and the exhaust was smelling like gas, after a high-reving driving manner. in time it got worse. the local service found one lambda probe(ahead of the cat.) broken(bad readings). i replaced that one, and after 3000km the second one died also. shortly the 3rd one(after the cats.) broke. it worked normally for the following 2000km, when the new probes all died again. they were replaced with new one, and now they're broken again.
Some other mechanics told me to replace the MAF, wich i did. the engine was runing normal, but only for 1000km.
at the moment the car is working fairly normal, only with small fluctuations at 700rpm(ralanti) and consuming 12 liters in urban traffic(but with my driving style should consume only 10), and if i rev it up to 6000rpm will increase the consumption up to 25l/100km. after a break of 2h or so it works fairly normal again.
can you please tell me what to search for?, what parameters should i check, to find the problem that distroys the lambda probes that fast?
i await your answers.
