Hi guys, I was reading through the forums and say this which caught my attention as I have a concern about my clutch. Of course not being able to see/drive the car means diagnosis is a best guess but I could do with anything you can give me.
I think that my clutch is on the way out on my 02 156 2.4JTD 10v after covering 150k+ miles - so its lasted well! I am hoping its something cheaper but I have a nasty feeling . . .
Basically I have no slip at all when driving the car - it still accelerates just as it did when I got it. However the biting point has moved, more or less overnight!, and I have to keep my foot hammered into the floor for the clutch to change gear - mostly for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. It is stiff to go into the lower gears and I have to really push/pull to get the gear.
It also has a very unhealthy judder when setting off in first - which feels terrible! It also does this judder, though not as bad, changing down from 4th to 3rd and again from 3rd to 2nd - it gets worse when from 3rd to 2nd.
I have also noticed a 'clunk' sound if I have my foot on the accelerator and then remove it whilst driving steady in say 3rd?
I am hoping its an engine mount or maybe a wishbone or suspension component but I fear the worst . . .
Does anyone have a similar experience that they can share to put my mind at rest/scare me to death for a repair?
Cheers - Andy.
