Again, the 'Go to dealer' and little yellow engine light. Codes read - says engine misfire and cat lambda. Apparently I have been told the sensors are OK.
It only happens about every 500 miles, always
when the engine has warmed up and always when I slow down at a roundabout , lights - i.e. engine drops down to low revs ...Immediately light comes on at the roundabout.
It never happens when the engine is cold or on a short run.
What's going on?? If there is something (really) wrong it ought to come on pretty much straight away. I get the bill for having it reset with no real confident answer from garages as to what the heck is wrong. One garage said they would need the car for longer and were vague about what the issue might be....i.e. 'could be anything', ' supermarket petrol' ....
I have looked at the various posts about ECSF on JTS models but again there seems to be a long list of possible causes (including 'it's just that model - put tape over the light!).
OR buy a little unit so I can reset it.
Oh...and yes, I've put a new battery in!
I would love to hear from anyone who has an idea where the problem originates.
I have the car regularly serviced and it seems to run OK.
