value my car please?

I need to make a decision.

My car has a faulty gearbox.

It`s a 147 selespeed , met black , nero fucco. 3 door. 03 plate

111K miles.

17" selespeed alloys , recently powder coated. 2 months ago, decent amount of tread.

Ipod cable and drawer.

Alfa carpet mats.

stainless steel exhaust made by Cybox.

leather and Bose.

the usual extra`s.

a few small dents in the doors from other cars door`s in car parks but they are not that noticeable.

also needs some rear bushes but i dont know which ones exactly, car is slightly pulling to the left.

I have been quoted 700 to fit a second hand gearbox and a new clutch.

But 180 per side for the rear suspension bushes.

the rear bushes on top of the rest of it is putting me off getting it fixed.

1. break it for parts and sell them myself?

2. sell it as a non runner

3. fix it and sell it.

Value all 3 of the above please.

I am fed up with my car at the moment.

It is currently at an alfa specialist at Tickhill , maltby

The alfa specialist you are at should be able to tell you what bushes are worn and more info would be required as to the nature of the gearbox fault. It is very difficult to advise with such sketchy info.

Until you have been given some more details as to the nature of the faults I would hold fire with a descision but if it were me with a car that isn't pristine in appearence, that has high mileage and requires 1000+ work I have to say i'd probably break it - question is the value the bits may generate.

I wish I could help more and I hope that with the help of other members here your issues get resolved without breaking the bank or losing your bella.

On Ebay it would probably make 500-1000 with a faulty gearbox.Trouble is if you fix it with a secondhand box/system odds are you will have the same problem again, not if but when...........This is the same problem as rover head gaskets its not if they go its how long before they fail.
