I popped it into first and the wheel in the air just kept spinning with no pull whatsoever from the wheel in the ground. Surly with Q2 there should be some drive to the wheel on the ground?
This wont work with torsen, only with clutch plate diffs. Torsen needs both wheels to have at least some amount of traction. It works by distribution of the torque from the wheel with less traction to the wheel with more traction but once one side has absolutely no grip it will start to behave as an open diff (for example one wheel off the ground or one wheel on clean ice)
When both wheels are off the ground the Q2 torsen diff works exactly like a normal diff. Spin a wheel on one side and the other will spin in the opposite direction just like a standard diff. Hence why it’s difficult to identify.
Well, my wheels spin in the same direction when lifted off the ground (Q2car). I noticed it when I was changing my winter tyres few months ago. On my TS with open diff they spin in oposite direction.
