A point of interest several companies now do lpg conversions for around £1000. Lpg being around half the price of petrol its a job worth considering if you have a big engine in a newish/valuable car and your keeping it for a while. I also need to run a 4x4 and for a while i had a jeep grand cherokee, it was like driving around in the living room armchair, but 14 mpg is no fun especially as the state are grabbing most of the fuel prices in tax. If fuel costs/duty eventually reach £1.50 a litre then older cars with big engines are doomed.
