Check engine orange warning light
I recently had my cambelt changed (stupidly by a 'normal mechanic' not an Alfa specialist) and the day after my check engine light came on.....RAC did a fault code check and it was cam position sensor. I rang round a few places and spoke to A for Alfa in Aylesbury...top fella who had a look at the car (156 55 plate facelift 1.6) and diagnosed without even taking bits off that the timing was out, upon inspection it indeed was way out,he rectified this tidied everything up and double checked everything, including do a well needed oil change, and all was well. Yesterday the check engine light came on again, then went out then came back on again this morning, during all this light on light off stuff the car runs excellently as always no loss of power no change to fuel consumption or any other symptoms of a real problem......so my dilemma is I know everything is well with the cambelt and have a sneaky feeling the sensor is at fault, should i just ignore the light .....unless any other symptoms occur obviously...and change the sensor at the next cambelt change???
Any advice would be greatly appreciated but have to say A for Alfa are top blokes and well worth a visit so will obviously be giving them a ring on Monday for advice but if anyone else has experience of such a problem it would be useful
