Hmmm 156 brake lights/battery discharge

2001 1.8 Veloce. Battery is discharging, presumably a result of one brake light staying on even once the keys have been removed and the car locked up.
Guessing not a specific Alfa problem but any help would be helpful

As others have said, faulty rev counter, common problem, and it was the first issue i had with my first 156

All the lighting circuits run through the rev counter and a small diode fails and keeps a tail light perminentely lit draining the battery.

PM me if you need one
