will a 156 1.8 manifold fit my 1.6ts ?

On a whim i just brought a 1.8 manifold off e-bay for 20 hoping that it will fit my 1.6 ts 156 sportswagon. I have had it welded before, and it really needs replacing now, I am losing power. Anyone know if it'll fit. The 1.8 was a 2000 model and so is my 1.6.

From memory it will do up to the 1.6 1.8 and 2.0.

I think the 1.8 and 2.0 are variable length inlet manifold but the 1.6 isn't? That would mean having additional electrical contacts. Correct me if I'm wrong - please!
