Hehe, rarebear, wanna bet ?
You guys drive pretty much like i do.
In the morning, when the engine is cold i warm it up on idle till the water temp is 55-60 C (around 3-4 min). Well, in that time i take the car out of the garage, close it back, get in the car and ajust the aircon, CD, ... After that i take off and i don't rev the engine more than 3000rpm. When the water temp reaches 90 C i start shifting around 3500, and after 5-10 min at 4000rpm. On the highways i keep the engine over 2800-3000rpm. It's a real shame that new Alfas don't have an oil temperature and pressure gauge. I'm still planning to install some aftermarket gauges.
That is what i call normal driving.
On the other hand, when the engine & oil is warm, and i want some sensations, i rev the engine up to 6000, 7000 or even 8000rpm (when someone upsets me real bad
). I use Castrol RS 10w-60 and now i change it every 5.000kms (3.000miles), but before the engine mods i used to change it at 7.500kms (5.000miles).
