Craking sound when going over bumps

The 147 is making a very irritating and annoying 'creaking/rattling' sound when going over small bumps. I have been told it might be the ball joints. How much would this cost me and is it a big job?

mine used to creak a bit (especially in the mornings!) problem ended up being the upper wishbones which set me back 50 and then an hours labour to fit.
not sure on the cost for a 147, but its better if its the upper and not the lower wishbone ball joint as these are slightly more expensive.

creaking from the front is the upper wishbone bushes, worn/dried out. They can be lubricated with some silicon oil, but really need to be removed, inspected, dismantled and re - lubricated or replaced. Alfa will only replace the entire wishbone, but bushes can be bought. rattling is more likely the anti roll links are worn.
