So lets look at what we now know.
1. The pump is working fine.
2. The wiring to the pump is fine.
3. When there is pressure the actuator is working.
The 3rd to Neutral and back to 3rd, I would say is a failed attempt to disengage the gear Meaning that it never actualy left 3rd. The car will not start if it can't engage the clutch and it's in gear.
From what you're telling me it sounds like low system pressure.
So first thing to check is there enough oil in the system?
I'll reiterate did you test the relay? You can swap it with one from the fuse box in front of the battery. (For Testing)
Run the pump again till you hear the pump running slower as the pressure builds. Then quickly press the brake pedal and ask for neutral. What does it do? Report back please.
As the car now stands, please try to roll it back or forward. This is to test if it really is in gear, or if the ECU just thinks it is. I've had that often with mine.
PS did you clean the 20 pin connector?
