GT Q2, 2007 (mid) - Cam Belt
Im just about to join the world of alfa.
Buying a GT Q2, Mid 2007.
I have been reading on here about the Cam belt and now seeking some advice.
The car is 3.5 years on, and has done 62,000 miles.
It has a full Alfa service history.
Should I get the Cam belt changed right now? Some say wait 4 years, some say 50,000 miles. Alfa themselves still say 72,000 (or 5 years). The cost from the place in Manchester it has been serviced at is £700 inc a service. Is this good? Should I use a Auth Alfa dealer, or a 'another garage'. I have someone I use for a lot of my cars over the years who is pretty good - but is that risky? (He has changed all my Cam belts etc)
Finally how much 'trouble' are the more modern Afla's? Has reliability improved? The Q2 has a lot of bits added, so wondering when it will start to break!!
Thanks for any input - I will eagerly wait to here from fellow owners!
