I no what you mean about wanting the looks as well as the sound, but to be honest theres no point putting a sports filter up at the top of the engine bay between battery and cylinder head, as you'll just pull in all the dirty hot air.
I did have a thought about that though. If you change the intake pipe between the MAF and the filter, for a custom chrome job then it'll work beautifully and look the dogs nads.
Have seen threads here about this, but not sure of cost.
I was considering keeping the system ive installed on mine, but spraying up the black plastic pipe, first with a plastic primer and then a chrome spray.
Will test it on some spare bits and see how it comes out..?
Have a feeling i'll be disapointed with the finish, but nothing ventured....
