Sinking Brake pedal 156 2.4jtd

After a front pad change last year the brakes on my 156 2.4jd sport wagon seemd to get air in the system that no end of bleeding would shift. The pedal was very long though eventualy a half decent pedal was achieved but never as good as pre pad change.

The other week while having the clutch changed the garage made a slight adjustment to one rear hand brake mechanism and the pedal started going to the floor again.

Typicaly this occured just as the MOT was due. It was tested withthe long pedal and naturaly failed on this.

The car has now had a new master cylinder fitted but still the the brakes will not bleed to give a decent pedal ?

Has anyone else encountered this? Could it be an ABS fault of some sort?

The are no visible leaks and the resevoir does not need topping up so a leak seems unlikely.

Help !
