equals new wheel . .
Just watched my lovely GT carried off on the back of a relay truck.
Driving home last night on a dark wet stretch of road, about half a mile from my office, I hit a rather large pot hole. Massive impact practically ripped the steering wheel out of my hands and left me with a very bumpy ride. Quick stop off at the local quickfit revealed a very buckled and dented 17" multispoke alloy
A look on eBay last night didn't reveal much in the way of a replacement, neither did a call this morning to a few local recyclers. The local Alfa dealer wants £750 for a new wheel
, so I made a call to my insurance company (aviva), and they have arranged the pickup, and a replacement car whilst mine is in the shop, with possible suspension damage too . . . . .
At least I don't have to worry about trying to sort it all out now, even though I do have to pay £150 excess (and fortunately a protected no claims) . . . still I guess that's what we pay insurance for.
A couple of colleagues also said they hit the same pot hole last night (no obvious damage), so we went back up the road this morning to find the offending crevice, only to find it had already been filled in . . . . took some pickies anyway and reported to the council. Insurance company said they will want to claim off the council. Good luck with that one!
Hopefully get the GT back ASAP. Missing it already
