is this the one in newcastle on ebay?
cat d is the lightest damaged class, if it's front end damage I would have a good look around the engine bay check the slam panel is not bent and also check radiator/hoses. check the airbag hasn't went off. You could get a mechanic to check it for you even?
A new headlight will be expensive, as will painting new bumpers etc. eBay will sort u with a few bargains though.
Personally it wouldn't put me off, my old 147 was cat D which I had repaired and you couldn't tell any difference.
and yes, cat D would not need a vic check, only cat C onwards. make sure they have the V5 or new keepers slip though, I had to wait months for the DVLA to send me a new one, it was agonising.
