New to the 156

Hi can any one tell me how to:
change the bulb in the temp gauge,
work the interior lights in auto?
where do I find the paint code?
where to find a workshop manual

Hi there, the paint code on my 156 is on a sticker on the inside edge of the right hand side of the boot lid. Peace

The above is perfectly correct....

changing the bulb in the temp gauge is something of a need to take out the centre console, which is a time-consuming if relatively easy need to remove the radio (and if you want to use it again you'll need the code, if its a standard unit), then remove two Allen screws that are at the top of the radio aperture, then remove the ashtray, then 2 screws holding the ashtray holder, and another 4 or so securing the console, including some under the gear lever gaiter - which just prises out......sorry to be a bit vague but I'm 12 miles away from my unit where I've got several consoles that I could check to confirm the detail. Once you've got the console free, there are 4 screws holding the gauge unit in place. After all that, I'd change all the bulbs in the unit - you don't want to be doing this again in another few weeks.

"Work the interior lights in auto" ? If you mean get the interior lights to work when the doors are open and go off when they are shut - its a setting on the switches on the light unit, right hand switch in the middle position IIRC.

Manuals are generally only available in Cd/DVD form - tho I think there is an online source - but they are generally only a few quid from Ebay sellers.

Hope some of that helps.

Theres a guide on the "other site"
Fun starts @ 3000!

Go to tips then scroll down to the appropriate guide - its aimed at the heater bulbs but it'll show the screw locations

And the link to manual, bit of a guddle

and as RGWM said usually only a couple of quid from ebay
