As a family car?

Anyone had experience with these for a new born sprog? Car seats, accessibility, etc.

If it was me I would suggest a well serviced 156 Sportwagon, interior facelift version.

Hi, i have a 5 door 147 and one 1 year old baby boy (and two dogs and the wife) and the only real problem i have found with the car when it comes to fitting baby seats is the lack of isofix mounts. And thats not that much of an issue as according to the wife a well fitted normal seat is as safe as an isofix mounted one.

I do love the car but i know that it wont be long before it is too small, and then i will be looking for a 156

The boot is a bit small on the 147 but I have a GT as a 'family' car so I can't complain

Don't think either are a good family option (but if we all gave up and drove Scenics it would be sad)! I have had both saloon and 156 Sportwagon - there isn't much to be gained in boot volume in the SW as the rear screen is steeply sloped, although you can put the rear seat down. Even with the seat down you can never get as much in as you think. I agree with Hazz37 - if I had all three in front of me I'd take a 156 SW. Best looking and most practical. Would not rule out a GT - the boot is massive - I think the rear seats go down too (never had them down while we had one - used the SW for (small to medium!) load lugging). Aside from the fact the GT only has 2 doors its pretty practical and JTD is very economical. Only hassle may be getting the said sprog into a baby seat in the front or rear with those farm gate sized GT doors.
