Squealing Auxillary belt.

156 2.4 JTD ( 2001 ) -

It's recently started squealing constantly when running. It goes away for a few minutes if I spray the belt with WD40 - but soon returns

Any ideas what it may be and what the cure / cost would be?

cheers all

Likely to be either the tentioner or idler pully bearings are dry.
Both easy and not too pricey to replace.

Alternatively, I took mine off... removed the dust caps from the bearings.... packed with fresh grease and re-fitted. Cost half an hour of my time and was fine long after she was sold.
