147 Test Drive First Impressions
I'm new to the Forum as I'm looking to buy a 147 as soon as I find a decent one.
Went to see a 2Litre Lusso today and took it for a test drive. The first thing I noticed about the drive was how loose the gear-box seemed. It felt like it was very "long-throw" to change gear and a bit like "stirring porridge" for want of a better expression. It also seemed difficult to go from 2nd to 3rd gear.
I wondered if this is just how the 147 gearbox feels generally, and something you just get used to?
Hope I haven't offended any 147 owners with the above description. Apart from the gearbox I was very impressed with the feel and sound of the engine, the interior and the level of spec.
The one I drove had the engine management light constantly on, so I walked away, but am checking out a few more tomorrow hopefully, including a 1.9 JTD.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
