Link to Poll: Engine Braking and Oil Consumption - is there a linkage?

Hi All,

I am trying to investigate the linkage (if it exists) between Engine Braking (ie: Changing into lower gear and lifting your foot off the throttle, in order to brake without using... the brakes ) and excessive oil consumption.

This is because I gathered (from other non-Alfa sources) that engine braking (which is one of the things you do in "Spirited Driving") can increase the consumption of oil when the vacuum created pulls oil vapours past the rings (depending on design of course).

Later on, I wish to map the various factors (design and driving patterns) so can be used as elimination options in problem solving.

So please - Vote early and vote often!

(just kidding - you cannot do that ).

Here is the link to the poll in the Poll Lounge:

Cogito Ergo Zoom - I think. Therefore I drive fast.
