Well, My car had been sat covered completely in 10 inches of snow for the entire weekend, I spent a good 20 minutes clearing it at 5am in the freezing cold, my hands were sore it was so cold.
As usual, door buttons were frozen solid but I figured out that if you just thump it with the side of your hand it goes in easy enough.. All those times I got the kettle out to defrost it when I could have just thumped it
Anyway, started 1st stroke of the key.. A few noises here and there due to cold no doupt and then it sounded normal.. Noticed handbrake was frozen on so I left the car to warm up for 10 mins and that did the trick..
Started driving, all was well.. managed ok on the snow as it is fine powered snow so it's not that bad..
While driving slowly I took my foot off the accelerator but the car kept pulling along! I assumed that the throttle cable got a bit stuck due to the cold no doupt.. but that disappeared quickly, it was only when I was holding the same speed for a few mins that it got the chance to freeze up a little.. One to watch out for!
Oh well, according to the "Experts" this weather will last for a month yet so better get used to it.
