I'm about to start doing a much bigger mileage and also could do with a bit more space occasionally. I'm looking for a practicality this time - logically, I ought to get a newish diesel Mondeo or similar but I really want a 156 SW with a diesel engine. For peanuts.
Are they thin on the ground? I'm in no great hurry but haven't got the time to chase all over the country looking. What sort of money am I looking at for something reasonably well sorted? Within swapping range of my GTV? (phase 2, 85K, good specialist history , belts, spring pans etc, grey, perfect black leather, aero pack, 17 inch teles, no advisories in last 3 MOTs, but
4" scratch on bonnet, 3 wheels need a refurb, rear section of exhaust is newish but looks cheap). If so, anyone fancy a swap?
It has to be a SW because I want to get the dogs out of Mrs Rewe's new car. I'm so relaxed driving these days that I couldn't care less how fast it goes - I just want it to be economical and well sorted mechanically.
Any advice for me? Thanks in advance.
