Hi all,
I have a 147 1.9 JTDm and would like to read the fault codes, it's come up with a MCSF warning, but it was on start up on a very cold morning where i didn't wait long enough for the glow plugs to get warm. It runs fine so my guess is it's nothing serious, but i would like peace of mind and i don't want to pay for the codes to be read as i can see this recurring....
My question is, for a complete diagnostics novice like me whats the best (read easiest) and least costly way to get up and running assuming you have a decent lap top. Which cables and softwear are best and how do you go about reading/removing the codes... is it as simple as it seems?

Try FiatECUScan - Fiat, Alfa, Lancia ECU Reader / Scanner

and either a KKL cable from ebay or Elm327 cable from ebay
