Alfa 147 suspension, what to do?
Hello all, new Alfa owner here and been enjoying the forum both before and after my purchase two weeks ago, mostly to reassure me that certain 'characteristics' were normal!
Anyway, car is an otherwise very tidy 38k miler 2 litre Lusso. But one of the previous owners decided to lower the car and the ride is crashy to say the least. Feels underdamped so I suspect that I have lowered springs with standard dampers but a quick look under the arches is inconclusive.
On top of this it's very creaky so I guess I'm looking at replacement wishbones (plus other components?) so makes sense to address all these issues at the same time. The car is my every day driver so comfort is valued over handling so options (with rough price indicators) seem to be:
1) buy new (or maybe second hand?) standard springs and return to standard ride height ($)
2) buy uprated dampers to match lowered springs (but maybe too low on 16" rims?) ($$)
3) buy AutoDelta 'comfort' kit ($$$)
Any other options out there, any decent alternatives to the standard setup and is the standard setup that good anyway?!?
Thanks in advance,
