First time poster, just really hoping someone can help me and give me some advice!
About a month ago a bit of squeeling started coming from the engine, nothing too severe, so I ignored it, hoping it would go away, but alas thats never the case. Then last week the engine warning light came on, and the squeeling coming from the engine has gotten alot worse.
The noise is there sometimes at startup (10-20%) but continues consistently when i'm driving and gets worse when I take my foot off the accelerator.
I only purchased the car in May, the cars has done 89k, I purchased it at 80k, with the belts having been done at 77k.
I've read several different explanations, from water pump seizure to problems with the cam/altenator belts.
I'm not as handy as i'd like to be with looking after my Alfas on my own yet, so please go easy on me with the tech speak, I had a 147 up until May, luckily never had any major problems with it!
If people could help with diagnosis, and identify any potential problems so I don't pay a fortune trying to get the problem identified it'd be much appreciated. Also if you could let me know approx price for repair that would be great as cash is very short at the moment on the run up to christmas.
Thanks in advance
