Bulb Warning Light

Evening Guys.

Just read a few threads about the "Bulb Warning Light" and I have to say, I'm still perplexed

This warning came on because one of the number lights was out. Gave the bumper a tap and its all sorted.

Now the warning light comes on when I press the brake pedal

Any ideas???

Brake light out?

My number plate bulb fails and fixes itself all the time.

mine has only done this when it was uber cold. you could take the bulb out and pinch the contacts a bit. hoping it makes a tighter fit/contact.

Do the contacts thing on the rear lights, and get a new bulb, and a friend to press the brake pedal while you test your work.

I spent a hour or so on this game on my 156 ts,

yes, brake light out. Had that last year!

I too am getting random bulb warnings when it's particularly cold, even though they're all working!

Cheapo Halfrauds own make bulbs can do this as well ... I had to replace my brake lights with Bosch bulbs after the Halfords one kept making the warning light come on .. the pins that held them in the socket were really, really short and I think the bulb just kept popping out!

and before anyone makes a sarky comment, their brand was the only one in stock at the store near where my brake light failed on a wet and nasty night ... normally I wouldn't buy them ... now you know why!

I got this too for my front left light...but it's perfectly fine?

Someone said reset the ECU which should wipe the errors.

Think BigJim's right...receiving contacts may be too far apart....small screwdriver will push them closer together.

Resetting the ECU is unlikley to fix this (by all means try as it will not harm it) - unlike the 156 the 147 bulb out circuit run through the body computer and these are know to fail although not as reglarly as the 156 rev counters.

Do a search on bulb out circuit issues or rev counter issues
