I have only had my 156 1.8TS Veloce for a few days and I was expecting to be disappointed as my previous car was a Nissan Maxima QX 3.0V6 but the Alfa seems easily as quick and probably quicker cross-country thanks to superior brakes.
For a £700 113,000 mile car, I'm surprised to find that it drives almost like new (except for squeaky suspension over humps) and everything works as it should. I have previously owned far more expensive cars - particularly Jaguar XJS and XJ6 - where I have accepted that one or more windows are permanently up and that one or more dashboard instruments will be doing their own thing.
My one and only quibble so far is the non-standard stereo which cannot hold onto Radio 4 (OK, I'm old!) and ejects the CD every time I switch on.
