Underwhelmed by GT headlights
My previous car was a Seat Leon - the dipped beam on this was great - only ever used 'bog standard' bulbs, there was a well defined cut-off & often forgot to use main beam!
Got the GT just over a month ago. The first time I drove it at night I thought a bulb was out. I bought some nightbreakers but on swapping the bulbs part of the problem was revealed - the fillament had partly vaporised which had then 'condensed' on the upper surface of the bulb which would have blocked a significant amount of light.
Having tweaked the aim a bit it's a lot better, but still not as good as I recall the Seat being. The headlights on the A3 I had before the Seat was also rubbish, so I have a cynical theory - if Xenon headlamps are available as an option (A3, GT, not Seat) then make the normal lights a bit average to encourage an upgrade........????
