as a rule of thumb:
top arms squeak / creak
bottom arms knock / clunk
drop links rattle / rumble
anti roll bars tend to rattle / rumble like drop links but you will feel it through your feet as well!
typically this time of year when it gets cold and damp dry top arms are given their voice and tend to squeak like hell, provided they are not worn out or crap reproduction arms then a good greasing cures them 99% of the time. the metal part should rotate freely inside the rubber bushes.
its usually wise to strip them down, clean them out with a good stiff rush and something like WD40 to get all the muck off them then grease it all to merry hell. you can hold the top arm mounting plate and arm in your hands and give it a dam good wiggling about to work the grease in and make sure its not squeaking no more!
