Re: my bella has been violated by a Volvo
I had a similar thing with my first 'decent car'. Mint Mark II Golf GTI driven into the back of by a squaddie in a 'borrowed' MOD car. After the accident the MOD were pleased to have discovered the AWOL soldier and car. They then decided a week later that the whole thing was completely legit and the guy hadn't taken the car at all and they would cover him.
A year after the event, the whole thing hadn't been sorted out yet and two 'witnesses' who hadn't said a word until now, said they had been a few cars back in the queue of traffic and had seen me drive like an absolute maniac, overtake the guy and cut back in front of him before slamming on the brakes. A copper friend of mine said that had that been the case I would have been prosecuted for dangerous driving on the spot.
Suffice it to say my insurance company couldn't do anything for me with those witness statements and the matter was dropped with me still paying a three year bank loan on a car I'd only had six months. Moral of this story? Never buy a car with a bank loan and only insure it third party.
Ex 95 164 TS Super, 95 164 QV, 97 164 V6 Super – all very much missed.
