After putting putting up with the rattling for the last 12 months i'm finally goin to roll my sleves up and tackle the anti roll bar.
Im just wondering are there any signs of wear in the steering rack that i should be looking for??.
Just to determine weather its worth changing too.
While i have everything taken apart like.
Steering rack is pretty expensive thing to change as a precaution, very expensive item even when not new just refurbished. They fail sometimes, but not that often. Usual signs are leaks, clicking or whistle noises when turning the wheel, play in the steering rack.... What usually fails is the steering rack ends with their ball joints at the ends and their rubber boots protecting them from getting dirt into the rack. But these are relatively cheap items and easily replaceable if worn. So check the rack ends and all pipes for leaks. The rack will be most probably fine if you havent noticed any steering issues.
Get tracking done after.
