2005 156 - feels wrong in low gears
I've just replaced by much-loved 2001 1.6 156 with a 2 litre 2005 model, both petrol, but while I'm an Alfa lover my general car knowledge is very poor.
It never felt quite right from day one. I struggle to avoid the car juddering or kangarooing while going up through the low gears. At first I thought it was just getting used to it.
Then the engine management warning went off while I was away and I had to go into a garage. They replaced the plugs and were going to replace the coil but the plugs did it and the light reset.
The mechanic had taken it on a test drive and described it as "lurching".
Anyway, it seemed to be a bit better but still doesn't seem right and is genreally more sluggish than I'd expect in low gears, though fine when it gets going.
The garage that sold me it serviced the car first and did a cambelt change. Any ideas before I take it to my friendly local mechanic?
