What's your Checking Schedule?

Just wanted to know what/if people do weekly/fortnightly/monthly checks on their Alfa's. I only check the oil every so often, and the wash bottle even less!?! What do you check, how often and why? Should I be looking for other bits of wear and tear/tyre pressure etc?

Re: What's your Checking Schedule?

I think you can get to know your car. I checked my GTA oil frequently (every week) at first, and it used oil so I topped it up when needed. Now it hasnt used much for a while, so its more like every month.
Dont check the wash bottle ever, just fill it when it runs out.
I only check the tyre pressures if any look flat!

Re: What's your Checking Schedule?

Weekly check:
Engine oil level
Selespeed fluid level
Power steering fluid
Brake fluid level
Engine coolant level
Fill screen wash
Battery "Magic Eye"
Visual check of tyres, brake pads & discs (without removing the wheel).

Visual check of tyre pressure every time I get in the car, true pressure check at least once a month (often every week).

Re: What's your Checking Schedule?

I now check the tyre pressures every time i fill up with fuel - every 7-10 days. I have 17x215 tyres and best pressures seem to be about 37psi for best ride and handling, but seems to lose air. I do not know if is is just my tyres... or the way I drive. all the tyres need pumping up by 1-2 psi each time i check.

Re: What's your Checking Schedule?

Because I drive the 156 every other day or so, every two weeks, I check:

- Engine oil
- Tire pressure (17" wheels & tires are quite sensitive to changes in pressure)
- Brake / Power steering fluids
- Coolant

Re: What's your Checking Schedule?

I check pretty much everything whenever I suddenly feel guilty coz I realise I haven't for ages.
I'm not very organised, you see
