Re: Alfa 156 V6 info req'd
OK, made a bit of a decision. Just after getting a new job, and by way of celebration, I am considering this again. Car is still there, I gotta talk to the owner on Monday, and will prolly go down to take it out, view it, etc. next Saturday. Last time I spoke to someone in the garage they quoted me a price to change of EUR 4,000. Now that to me sounds way too much.
I drive a '00 156 2.0, SpPack 1 or 2, 44,000 miles on the clock. The V6 is also '00, however only has 25,000 miles on the clock, 1 owner and does look spotless (from the pic).
Insurance will prolly go up to 2,500 (have not rang all insurance companies yet. However I am weighing this against the fact that a)it's a V6, B)Mine is due a timing belt change and major service, C) the guarantee on mine is just up, and the V6 comes with 12 months guarantee and D)Did I say it's a V6!!
Let me know if you know any haggling tricks. I think the most I would be willing to pay with my own is about EUR 2,000, and even that seems a lot.
