Here's me returning the favor. Thanks AO. :clover:
I had this "Schizophrenic Selespeed refuses to change into odd gears (1-3-5) when she's not in the mood" problem.
http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...odd-gears.html (Selespeed fails to engage odd gears)
I replaced the orings as part of my big time Selespeed service project. Then we replaced a friend's SS orings. Here are the results for Mk1.5 and Mk2 156 Selespeeds (with second generation Selespeed robots):
- 10mm inner diameter, 1.5mm cross section
- 11mm inner diameter, 1.5mm cross section
- 12mm inner diameter, 1.5mm cross section
- 18mm inner diameter, 2mm cross section
I used 10.5-11.5-12.5mm diameter orings for my car. They were off by 0.5mm each. So we ordered 10-11-12mm orings for my friend's 156. He reported they fit correctly. I recommend that all 156 (and possibly 147 and GT) Selespeed owners use 10-11-12mm inner diameter orings. The reason is, smaller orings can be stretched to fit where slightly larger orings are called for. But the opposite is not true. So you can replace an 11.5mm oring with an 11mm one but the 11.5mm oring will be loose when you replace an 11mm one with it.
I prepared a guide for this but it's in Turkish. Hopefully I'll find some time to do the same in English.
Finally; I'd like to thank the OP and anyone who contributed.
