Advice required for new gt owner!

Hi, I am hoping for some quick advice. I have just acquired my first Alfa, a 56 plate GT diesel.
Firstly, does anybody have any recommendations for independant Alfa specialists anywhere on the M6 corridor between, say, Wolverhampton and Stoke?
Secondly, a more specific question. I am inclined to carry out / have carried out an oil and filter change. Does draining the oil cause any warning light / message on the dash to come on and which can only be reset with the right equipment, or is it just a case of 'crack on and get it done'?
