Loss of power to wheels, had to be towed :(
I have a 147 Alfa, manual gearbox, with 104k on the clock.
Up until last night, it was running like a top, just passed it's MOT, got new sparkplugs, air filter etc...
Last night I was on the motorway at 75mph when it suddenly started to slow down, with no bangs, or other noises, engine was ticking away and I was able to change gears etc, but didn't seem to have as much power to the wheels.
I managed to limp to a lay-by and was towed to the local garage as I didn't want to risk burning the clutch out, etc, and with RAC already paid up figured better safe than sorry.
They didn't take it for a drive, and had to ask me again what was wrong as they were able to set off in 1st, and all emissions are normal, no major leaks, etc.
I told him he'll need to take it for a drive, and have left it with him as I am away for a couple of days anyway, but I wondered if anyone had any ideas?
I am assuming differential or clutch, but the lack of noise, leaks, smoke, etc has me stumped!
