Help Split driveshaft gaiter?

Hi all,

I have noise coming from the offside, front wheel when the engine is running and when I turn the steering to full lock; when the car is moving, there is a also a rubbing noise.

I think the gaiter has now actually split apart (at the MOT in October - they told me about this and I forgot to replace it) meaning there's no lubrication and I think it's rubbing with the wheel or something ... Anyone had any such experiences with this gaiter ...

Thoughts appreciated ...

Warning Re: Split driveshaft gaiter?

If the gaiter was torn back in october I'm afraid that foreign matter have entered the CV joint and finished it of. It's not reconditionable. You have to buy a new one. The gaiter usually comes complimentary with the joint.

Re: Split driveshaft gaiter?

I had my gaiter replaced in my last MOT. Was the offside outer one.
Guess they don't last too long (it's Italian made), so i am keeping an eye on the others.
