+1 RGWM.......unfortunately i had both problems and they're NOT connected.

Alfa 156 Velouce

Mine wont start either

I have Alfa 156 Sportwagon my key light is out but she wont start I have put my ELM 327 & laptop with the Alfa software to the test & it tells me what my airbags & the make of my ECU but the ECU is dead no live to it the imobiliser has shut it down, is the imobiliser built into the ECU ??

make sure the relays in front of the battery are working, one of them went on my 156 , soon as i put a new relay in away it went.
