Re: Help - 147 strut brace
I had a long chat to a guy here in ZA that knows custom suspensions & suspension setups very well ( he is a professional racecar builder) and after having a look at my 147 he said a strut brace would not make much difference for normal road use, as the front wheel struts mounts are so close to the firewall. The car was designed in such a way that the firewall gives the struts enough support (for normal road use). A strutbrace would only be really beneficial if you also do the struts, anti-roll bars and springs as well, and you plan to race the car on a regular basis.
Maybe it's my stingy nature, but I would not spend the money. I did this on my 155 (eibach brace) and could honestly not feel any difference.
Anyone else who fitted a strutbrace ? Did you notice any real difference ?
