Selespeed reset

Not happy Just paid $5500 for an engine rebuild, still smokin' from exhaust ...
Specialist wants another $1000 for issues not fixed the first time ... BS!

Now I've lost 3rd gear ... not going back!
Anyone reset selespeed by disconnecting battery???
I've removed -ve and +ve connectors and waiting .. 30 min now ...
I read on this board to disconnect for 45 min, reconnect. Start engine and idle for 10 min, don't touch throttle. Switch off for 10 min. then take it for a spin.
Will this really bring back the 3rd gear!
Sounds like voodoo ...

I doubt probably need a recalibration performed. DIY job with an OBD lead and AlfaDiag or FiatECUscan...

I agree. All that fun stuff about running the motor and so on. My Sele was unplgged for like 6 months and when I plugged it back in it work perfectly fine. Not sure if that was on default settings. I did a re-claibration after and it did get much smoother. So there might be some truth in resting the ecu to defaults, as for how. mmm.
