What to look for 156

Hi guys, looking at buying a 156 v6 very soon and was wondering what main areas to look at when buying. I have read that timing belts, water pump and tensioners should ideal be changed before alfa recommend, can anyone shed some light on this?

V6's Need belt changed at 72K mile intervals, should include rollers tensioner's and Water pump. Also as a genral rule for 156's check for rust on the sills and on the floor from the underside behine the front seats. Also ask iv the front suspension has had any work but i would budget for this anyway.

Also check for rust behind the front wheels where the brake hoses attach.

When I was looking for a 156, every one I looked at had some rust in the floor behind the front seats. Just try and find one that hasn't rusted through (give it a good poke) and treat it to prevent it getting any worse, unless you are handy with a welder.
