Alfa 156 1.8 T Spark [air bag fault indicator]

The air bag fault indicator is permanently on.

Silly question - what's that all about then?

It's been mentioned I have to remove the dash board and it's a real pig of a job so better just putting up with the warning light.

I'd like to know the air bag is going to work

It means there is a fault in the system. Not sure if the bag will deploy if you haev an accident. If you get it plugged in it will tell the reader what component is at fault be it the airbag unit itself or more likely one of the seatbelt pretensioners.
