Anyone had this fault? I have been advised that maybe the Airflow Meter is at fault. You typically notice when accelarating hard at 3000rpm its almost like hitting a flat spot. Has been like this on and off since having the car, but this is the first time a fault code has been logged
I've got a similar problem with three flat spots from 2800-3200. Dealer checked the AFM and say its ok. They now think it's the fuel pump...will find out next week. Not sure if they've got a full diag machine as it's an independant FIAT dealer
Well whatever the problem boost pressure is not what it should be at 3000 rpm. All this testing by the way is done by my new independant garage I use via their diagnostic device. As I am still under warranty I face the daunting trip to the dealer!! Therefore I wanted as much info as possible before I went. What....of course I have every confidence in their fault finding abilities!
Thats interesting! I`v had a 2.4 JTD for 2 months and its always had that 3000 rpm boost drop thing happen, I just thought thats how the car boosts, Please keep us informed, i would be interested in finding out what the problem is and how much it costs to put right!
It's normal for the 2.4 JTD (phase2) 136bhp to have a turbo lag at 2700-2800 rpm. You feel it especially when you accelerate hard. A good chiptuner can fix the turbo lag. The 2.4 JTD (phase3) 140 or 150bhp shouldn't have the turbo lag at all.
