Seems obvious to me, but maybe I am being overly simple
, but turbos run off exhaust gas, which is rather hot to say the least. and passes the turbine only a couple of inches max from the intake turbine, so they get bloody hot on both sides?
A supercharger is cracnk driven, so gets hot from its own and air friction (which the turbo does as well).
thus the turbo should be hotter as is got mega hot gas blasting through it as well as the friction elements?
Surely thats why turbos are more likely to have 1 or even 2 intercoolers?
Anyway, I remember an article on a 2.0TS 166 with aD supercharger - 200HP AND better fuel economy
Why didn't AR do this themselves
Infact I reckon AD should be sanctioned by aR like AMG to merc etc.
