Hello everyone.

Its my first post, unfortunately on my way to work this morning my timing belt went. Basically, does anyone know where I can get a decent engine for my 05 147jtdm 16v 150bhp. I've looked on Partfinder, Parts gateway etc to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Yep.
Unless it is a VERY recent engine, it will have the weak rockers that break and save the engine.
So it would most likely just need new rockers plus cambelt, waterpump, etc..

Sorry to bother you guys again, the garage have just come back to me and said that; if i was moving (which i was) when it broke it will have definitely bent the valves? In this case the only option is a new engine.
any advice woud be greatly appreciated on the best course of action and an idea of what I should be paying for a replacement engine. I have had one offered from an 06 with 21000 for £925. Unfortunately as I am fairly ignorant of these things I'm at a bit of a loss.

Cheers

That would be the case if it were a Petrol but Diesels have rockers that break rather than pistons that get bent - Diesel valves are far stronger than Petrol ones and would do a lot of damage.

Get this shifted to a Alfa specialist who know what they are doing.

As David C said "Unless it is a VERY recent engine, it will have the weak rockers that break and save the engine.

What year is the car

Is the garage a Alfa indie/specialist, if not get it out of there and find a good indie in your area, post in your region lounge here Alfa Romeo Meets & Events - Alfa Romeo Forum and you will get a good response
