Crazed 156 dies - main relay missing!?!

Hi - my 156 1.9 16V JTD has started playing up - on thursday when it was super cold it had trouble starting - then it was ok - ran for about 4 miles then died, not to start again - AA man recovered it (measured incredibly LOW voltages at pressure sensor for common rail and also at cam sensor,

I also notices an electrical "arcing" noise from behind dash (for a while before it stopped)

parked car at work and it started later on that day (generic code reader said: 685 MAIN RELAY signal not feasible, intermittant)

car today started fine - drove it round the block OK and parked it - went to start it and no go - it turns over fine - but wont burst into life????

also now showing VDC faults but I'm less concerned about that - just want a reliable running car ?? any ideas - as I'm TOLD theres no MAIN RELAY for this car?? - could it be the ECU relay?

anyone know of a wiring diagram for this veh??

cheers anyone that can shed light???

Sounds just like the crank sensor failure on my Selespeed and is a common failure on the TS engine, not sure about the JTD.

Have a search for any threads with that problem, its quite an easy fix.
