hey guys, I kindly ask your help. It is very important since I got very much worried lately and I dont want to loose my engine one of these days.
My 147 120hp is 1,5 years old and 6 months after I got it, there is a strange noise which last from 3-4 seconds when i turn on the engine. At first this noise came out only in cold mornings, but now, the last 3 weeks this noise comes out even when i start up the engine in the aftgernoon when I left the office.
This makes me worry very much.
When I talked to the alfa service here in Cyprus they told me that they couldnt hear any noise and that maybe this is normal. But i dont think it is.
The noise became louder the last weeks,
PLEASE HELP ME
Actually they engine wont blow up on any situations related with the variator. Eventually the sound is in fact from the variator but even if the variator is not working properly it wont mess with anything else.
Anyway, it's better to check it have have it replaced or you wont have 120bhp under the bonet.
Thanks for your help, i'll call now to arrange for a service and i'll tell the service deprtm about this.
Once again thank you very very much.
What is your mileage? The variator replacement requires an "open heart" surgery for your engine which leads in a respectable cost for a relatively cheap part. So unless the noise continues for more than 10 seconds on startup I would suggest a tip to deal with the problem until your cambelt replacement which will require the engine surgery anyway. The tip is to keep the oil level to MAX and check it regularly or change your engine oil to a 10W 60 (like the SELENIA RACING). I think you'll notice an improvement.
